Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to West Beach Lagoon 218 – Outstanding Value!, I’ll be honest — the name had me a bit skeptical. But you know what? Sometimes the places with the most straightforward names deliver exactly what they promise. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Scarborough’s beachfront strip, and the moment you step inside, you realize why couples keep rating the location so highly. There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to oversell itself but just gets the fundamentals absolutely right.
Location & Neighborhood
The location is honestly what sets this place apart — and I mean that in the best possible way. You’re literally steps from West Beach, which is actually one of Perth‘s better-kept secrets compared to the more crowded Cottesloe. The beach here has this lovely lagoon-style setup that’s perfect for swimming, especially if you’re not keen on dealing with big waves. What I really appreciated was how walkable everything is — you can stroll to cafes, grab dinner at the local spots, or just wander along the coast without needing to think about transport. The parking situation is a genuine bonus too, which anyone who’s visited Perth’s beach suburbs will tell you is not something to take lightly.
The Room Experience
The room itself was exactly what you’d expect from a well-managed four-star property — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. I stayed in one of their lagoon-view units, and honestly, waking up to that water view never got old. The space feels more like a proper apartment than a hotel room, which is perfect if you’re planning to stay more than just a night or two. The kitchen setup is actually quite functional — not just a token kitchenette, but something you could genuinely use if you wanted to prepare your own meals with fresh local ingredients from the nearby markets.
Amenities & Comfort
What impressed me most was how they’ve managed to keep things simple without feeling basic. The building has this relaxed, beachside vibe that doesn’t try too hard to be fancy, but everything works as it should. The common areas are well-maintained, and there’s a genuine sense that the staff actually care about the guest experience. I mean, it’s not going to blow you away with elaborate facilities, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want — a place where you can just settle in and enjoy being near the water without any fuss.
Why Guests Love It
After spending time here, I completely understand why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. There’s something about the combination of the beachfront setting, the peaceful lagoon, and the unpretentious atmosphere that just works. You’re close enough to Perth’s city center when you want some urban energy, but far enough away to feel like you’re actually on a proper beach holiday. The value proposition is solid too — you’re getting a quality four-star experience without the premium pricing of some of the flashier resorts. It’s the kind of place you’d happily return to, which honestly says everything you need to know.

Guest Reviews
Very good
Great location!
Rooms were clean and tidy
What could be improved: We had only got given 1 towel each for showering and the pool for 6 nights so had to wash our own towels to reuse
Good spot
Great location near the beach and scarborough foreshore, bed was comfy, would stay again
Brilliant we’ll be back!
We have stayed at west beach lagoon 3 times now you can not beat the location! My son loves the pool and 218 was directly above the pool so we could supervise from our room. They provide everything to get you started. Coffee pods for the machine. Washing powder it’s so wonderful to arrive and not have to think of those things!
What could be improved: Nothing - we were unfortunate to have other inconsiderate guests in the pool at 11pm at night that woke us up on the last night of our stay
Great location
Great location. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, beach and parks. Very clean and well looked after facility
Poor
Location
What could be improved: Blind broken noone came to fix it, pool wasnt heated
terrible stay so bad that we checked out early
the location is the only good thing about this property
What could be improved: cleanliness, general condition and smell of the property.Noisy residents
Enjoyable trip to Scarborough Beach. Moderately priced.
The bed was comfy and the tv was good. The kitchen was well equipped.
What could be improved: It’s dated. I felt enclosed as you can’t really leave the blinds open.
Leider nicht wie vorgestellt
What could be improved: Nicht besonders sauber, nicht wie gewünscht am Meer
Great location but the appearance of the unit is a let down
Location
What could be improved: Unit needs a lot of attention and upgrade.
Very good
Definitely Value for money.Nice location,Quite environment, washing machine, dryer
What could be improved: Blinds in Bedroom compromise privacy. There is still a gap when blinds closed. Not ideal for couples.
No tissue paper were provided even on request.
Bed room light and fan remote wasn't working which is a minor issue.
