Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Charming Getaway Steps from Attractions & Amenities on Hubert Street, you immediately get that “this is going to be good” feeling. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard — the kind of spot where you can tell they’ve put thought into the details without being flashy about it. The fact that there’s parking right on site is honestly a game-changer in Perth, where finding a decent spot can be a real headache.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this place — you’re actually in the thick of things without feeling like you’re camping out in Times Square. The location gets a 9.2 rating from guests, and I mean, that speaks for itself. You can walk to most of the main attractions without breaking a sweat, but when you come back in the evening, it’s not all chaos and noise. The neighborhood has that nice balance where you’ll find a decent coffee shop around the corner and maybe a local pub that doesn’t feel touristy.
The Room Experience
The room itself hits that sweet spot between comfortable and practical. You know how sometimes hotel rooms feel like they’re designed by someone who’s never actually stayed in a hotel? Well, this isn’t one of those places. Everything’s where you’d expect it to be, the bed is actually comfortable (not just hotel-brochure comfortable), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The whole setup just works — which sounds simple but is surprisingly rare.
What Makes It Special
What really sets this place apart is how it handles the little things that matter when you’re traveling. The free private parking situation is huge — I can’t stress this enough if you’re planning to drive around Perth or take day trips. Plus, the staff seems to actually know the area, so when you ask for recommendations, you get real answers instead of the standard tourist trap suggestions. It’s clear why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something about the whole vibe that just works for a romantic getaway or even just a relaxed trip with your partner.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, this place delivers on its promise without any of the usual hotel nonsense. You’re not paying for amenities you’ll never use, but you’re also not roughing it. The 7.8 rating reflects what you’d expect — solid, reliable, and genuinely pleasant without being over the top. If you want to be close to everything Perth has to offer but still have a comfortable base to come back to, this is exactly the kind of place that makes a trip memorable for the right reasons. It’s not trying to be the fanciest spot in town, but it nails what most travelers actually want.

Guest Reviews
Exceptional
misleading. only a 3 bedroom property & was very dusty. bedding has stains.
there was some old coffee pod machine
What could be improved: The property was very dusty. We contacted the owner to discuss how poor it was. the main concern is that it is not a 4 bedroom property. It only has 3 rooms...
The convenience to shops and attractions offset the above
Location is great. Near food, supermarket and short drive to kings park.
Rooms with fans help with ventilation since there is no fcu within each room
Scent used for 1st living room smells great
What could be improved: Towels are old and yellowish
Towel rod is thin and bent
Bedsheet is clean but has some stain
Room is too small for luggage
Need to remove an insect in the bathroom
Unstable wifi connection
Carpet needs a good wash
Very good
Good
Very happy with location to everything including transportation to Perth
What could be improved: Property was advertised as a 4 bedroom house and charged accordingly we feel. On arrival we only had 3 bedrooms and no bedroom or linen for the 4th guest.
Jason had already phoned me maybe a month prior and had his dates wrong for us coming into Perth. I said to him we already booked our flights way before our coming to Perth and there was 4 single men attending State of Origin Football in Perth. Were there any issues and no was the response.
Very disappointed there was no 4th bedroom as advertised on your booking.com site
Disappointing
What breakfast?
What could be improved: Supplying the fourth bedroom as expected and having to use pull out sofa bed was hugely disappointing. Receipt states
it was delivering 4 bedrooms. At least Jason brought down required linen and doona.
The “mattresses” on the two pull out sofa beds were very uncomfortable. The need to use three sets of stairs was very difficult for me as I have chronic back pain. This was a major and much looked forward to as it was my 75th birthday and our chance for a girly holiday as family live in Albany. Also charged for exchange rate on payment that was not mentioned when booking was made.
Enjoyed our time at the property, would book again! Beautiful space, clean, great location
the place was beautiful and the location was perfect
What could be improved: we though there would be 4 bedrooms but there were only 3 - maybe a clearer explanation on the website
Very good
Convenient location
Good host
Cozy apartment
Parking spots
What could be improved: There are only two aircons so two of the rooms and one of the living can get hot during the day
Everything was perfect
Great location and property was great to live in.
What could be improved: Nothing!
