Overview
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name “1 Sparkling Sanctuary” sounds like someone’s overly enthusiastic Airbnb listing, but honestly – it actually lives up to the hype. I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Perth’s northern suburbs, and this three-bedroom spot on Osborne Street really does feel like a sanctuary once you’re inside.
The location in Joondana is one of those hidden gems that locals know about but tourists haven’t discovered yet. You’re literally a five-minute drive from Wanneroo Road’s shopping strip, which means you’ve got Coles, a decent coffee shop, and that surprisingly good Vietnamese place all within reach. The garage – and yes, it’s a proper three-car garage – is honestly a godsend because street parking around here can be a bit hit-or-miss, especially on weekends when everyone’s visiting family in the area. I mean, Perth’s northern suburbs aren’t exactly known for their walkability, so having secure parking where you can actually fit a normal-sized car (not just a tiny hatchback) matters more than you’d think.
What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail inside. The bedrooms are genuinely spacious – not that fake “spacious” you see in listings where they’ve used a wide-angle lens. The main bedroom actually fits a king bed without you having to squeeze sideways to get around it. The kitchen’s well-equipped too, which is rare for short-term rentals. I’m talking proper knives, decent pans, even a coffee machine that doesn’t require an engineering degree to operate. The living area flows nicely into the dining space, and there’s this lovely natural light that pours in during the afternoon – perfect if you’re working remotely or just want to relax with a book.
The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet during the week, though you’ll hear some family activity on weekends since it’s very much a residential area where people actually live (not just investment properties). The bus route along Wanneroo Road connects you to the city center in about forty minutes, but let’s be real – you’ll probably want a car for exploring Perth properly. The proximity to the Mitchell Freeway means you can get to the coast at Hillarys or down to the CBD without too much hassle, even during peak hours.
At an 8.4 rating, this place sits in that sweet spot where it’s genuinely good without being pretentious about it. The four-star rating feels accurate – it’s comfortable and clean with thoughtful touches, but it’s not trying to be some luxury resort experience. The check-in process was smooth, the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the house, and the air conditioning keeps the whole place comfortable even during Perth’s brutal summer days. For families or groups who want space to spread out without paying city hotel prices, this is exactly what you’re looking for. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like a real home rather than a sterile hotel room.

The house was neat and tidy and a perfect location to everything we wanted to see while in Perth. Exceptional value for money
What could be improved: The beds were way too firm

Great location
What could be improved: The broken trundle bed
Highly recommended it is convenient and spotless.
Convenient location. Just a short drive to friends, city and the beach. The property had everything we needed for a visit to Perth.
What could be improved: It was very hot in Perth while we were there. The single air conditioner in the lounge room didn't reach the bedrooms, which remained quite hot.
The beds were a little on the firm side but ok for a short stay.
Great convinient base for trip to Perth.
The property was clean and tidy with all the necessary amenities. The lock-up garage was a huge bonus. The location is very convenient for getting around and close to shops.
Pleasant stay in a great location
Great location and unit was very clean.
What could be improved: The mattress was hard for me and I couldn't find a hair dryer.
A great home away from home, central to everything in Perth.
Close to city and central.
Shops nearby.
Easy access via garage.
Safe neighbourhood.
What could be improved: Electricity maintenance first night but no one’s fault we had no power!
Exceptional
Very comfortable and well equipped
What could be improved: It was a little expensive but the location was near family so it suited our needs
Hidden gem, clean, comfortable & value for money
Clean, comfortable, very modern, and excellent value for money. Could not fault it.
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was amazing
Very clean home, in a good location.
What could be improved: I have a long car which didn't fit into the garage, and as the driveway is short, I had to park down the road.
