Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, Studio A – Small Gem On The Busy Road doesn’t try to hide what it is — the name pretty much tells you everything upfront. Located on Harborne Street in Perth, this four-star spot sits right in the thick of things, and yes, there’s definitely some street noise. But here’s the thing — sometimes being in the middle of it all is exactly what you want, especially when you’re exploring a city like Perth.
Location & Getting Around
The location really is the star here, and I get why couples rate it so highly (8.6 out of 10, actually). You’re basically walking distance to most of what Perth has to offer, which means less time figuring out public transport and more time actually doing stuff. The fact that there’s free private parking on-site is honestly a game-changer — anyone who’s tried to find parking in Perth’s city center knows what I’m talking about. You can explore on foot during the day and still have the freedom to drive out to places like Fremantle or the Swan Valley when you feel like it.
The Studio Experience
The room itself is compact but thoughtfully designed — they’re not kidding about the “small gem” part. Everything you need is there without feeling cramped, though if you’re someone who likes to spread out, this might feel a bit snug. What I appreciated was how well they used the space — there’s actually storage for your stuff, which isn’t always a given in studio-style accommodations. The setup works particularly well for couples, which explains those high ratings from pairs of travelers.
Practical Considerations
Let’s be real about the busy road situation — you will hear traffic, especially if you’re a light sleeper. But the trade-off is being right where the action is, and honestly, the city sounds kind of fade into background noise after the first night. The staff seems to get that this isn’t a quiet retreat kind of place, so they focus on making everything else work smoothly. Check-in was straightforward, and they’re pretty good about local recommendations if you ask.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here is the combination of location and value — you’re getting a solid four-star experience without paying premium prices for being in the heart of Perth. The 8.2 overall rating reflects what you’d expect: it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises. If you’re the type who wants to walk to dinner, grab coffee around the corner, and actually feel like you’re staying in the city rather than just visiting it, this place makes sense. Just pack some earplugs if you’re sensitive to street noise, and you’ll probably end up being one of those couples who rates the location a solid 8.6.

Guest Reviews
Great little place
Clean cheap great location easy communication and entry
What could be improved: Couldn't find crockery
Made my stay very nice and comfy.
It was a nice place to stay for a single person or for a couple. A very cozy and comfy studio apartment to stay in if you are visiting Perth for a few days. Would definitely recommend someone. Next time visiting Perth, I'm definitely gonna look for this place if it's available.
What could be improved: I was willing to cook some Maggie noodles 🍜 just for an evening snack, but couldn't get the Induction Cooktop started, Messaged the owner but didn't hear back from him. Would been nice to have a gas cooktop, or something very easy to operate. Other than that, it was a great place.
Enjoyable
Comfy and locations
What could be improved: Better pillow
Very good
The shower was really good ☺️
What could be improved: I think there is some mould on the bathroom ceiling, but other than that, the cleanliness of the unit was great.
Even though we were confined due to surgery we enjoyed staying there for 2 days
We loved this little gem, we were not bothered by traffic noise once the door was closed. We had to stay close to RPH for 2 days so it was ideal. The only minus is, it’s not a smart TV so we were unable to watch sports all weekend. As we were confined to the apartment it was important to us, however it wouldn’t bother most people. The water pressure is amazing, great shower.
What could be improved: A smart TV would have been so good for us.
Well priced, clean studio with ensuite & kitchen & parking
Easy check in. Good location. Accessible to good shops and nice cafes. Free parking out the front. Felt safe. Bathroom was modern and clean. Kitchenette/fridge/sink was useful. Aircon & fan. Great price.
Very good
Very central location close to everything - swam at Scarborough beach ( 10 minutes away ) / good for coffee & restaurants catching up with friends ( 5 minutes ) / attending Leederville Tennis club 100 year anniversary ( 2 minutes )
What could be improved: I was aware it could be noisy and overall it was not as bad as i thought it might be with exception of Sunday night / Monday morning
Superb
Clean, new and comfortable inside
What could be improved: Noise of route in front of studio and sometimes the door was difficult to close from outside
Really good alternative for solo or couple travellers, lovely and tidy place.
Lovely location, good communication and tidy place
Superb
Very nice space
What could be improved: Tricky entrance
