The hotel itself is modern enough that you forget you’re staying in what used to be Perth’s forgotten beachside suburb, but honestly, that’s part of its charm.

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm just two blocks back from the beach chaos. I mean, you’re close enough to hear the ocean if you open your balcony door (and trust me, you’ll want to – the sea breeze is everything in summer), but far enough from Scarborough Beach Road that you won’t be kept awake by the weekend party crowd. The rooms are genuinely comfortable – not trying too hard to be fancy, but they’ve got those little touches that matter. Good shower pressure, actually functional air conditioning, and beds that don’t leave you feeling like you wrestled with a pretzel all night. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not the Ritz, but it’s not trying to be.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: parking is included, which is a godsend because finding a spot near Scarborough Beach in summer is basically a blood sport. The staff at check-in were refreshingly normal – friendly without that overly rehearsed hotel script thing. And honestly? The location turned out to be better than I expected. Sure, it’s not right on the beach, but you can walk to the sand in about four minutes, and more importantly, you’re actually closer to the good stuff. The IGA for supplies, decent coffee at nearby cafes, and if you’re into it, the Scarborough Beach Pool is practically next door – locals love that place for early morning laps. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me; it’s solid without being spectacular, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to experience Perth’s coast without paying those premium beachfront prices or dealing with the noise that comes with being right on the strip.
