Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Ocean Villa on Hastings Street, you immediately get that “this is going to be good” feeling. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard — the kind of property that lets its location do most of the talking. Honestly, when you’re this close to Scarborough Beach, you don’t need to oversell anything. The building has this relaxed coastal vibe that feels authentically Perth, not like some cookie-cutter resort.
The Scarborough Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally on one of Perth’s best beach strips, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of somewhere like Cottesloe during peak season. Scarborough has this perfect balance where you get proper restaurants and cafes within walking distance, but it still feels like a neighborhood rather than a tourist trap. The fact that couples rate the location 9.3 out of 10 makes total sense when you realize you can grab coffee, hit the beach, and find a decent restaurant for dinner all within a few blocks.
What You’re Actually Getting
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d want after a day at the beach — clean, comfortable, and with enough space to actually unpack your stuff. You know what impressed me most? The little details that show someone actually thinks about guest experience. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in Perth summers), and there’s decent storage space. It’s not trying to be fancy, but everything functions the way it should, which honestly matters more than marble countertops when you’re on holiday.
Practical Stuff That Actually Matters
Let me tell you about the parking situation — it’s free and on-site, which is basically gold in this area. I mean, try finding parking near Scarborough Beach on a weekend and you’ll understand why this is such a big deal. The recent guest rating of 9.5 for location isn’t just about being near the beach; it’s about being able to actually access everything without the usual Perth driving headaches. You can walk to the beach in minutes, but you’re also close enough to the main road that getting to Fremantle or the city center doesn’t require a whole expedition.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about Ocean Villa is that it gets the fundamentals right without any unnecessary fuss. You’re staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend, not just another place that looks good in photos but disappoints in person. The combination of that prime Hastings Street address, reliable amenities, and the whole Scarborough beach lifestyle makes it one of those stays where you actually relax instead of constantly planning your next move. Plus, when you’re paying four-star prices but getting this kind of location access, it feels like you’re getting away with something.

Just what we wanted
What could be improved: Nothing
Relaxing place to stay. We would come again!
Welcoming and clean villa
What could be improved: Sheets need updating
Could be perfect.
Great space three bedrooms in dire need of refurb - particularly the kitchen and bathroom. However, great location, good garage and host was very responsive.
What could be improved: Kitchen falling to pieces.
Excellent location, clean and comfortable accommodation with good parking
Clean comfortable apartment with garage parking on site. Beds were comfortable and had outside seating with facilities for washing clothes and hanging them up to dry, Comfortable kitchen
What could be improved: The internet was really slow and couldn't run Netflix. The outside chairs gave off a white powder that stained clothes and caused two of our party to start itching. A second shower would have been handy.
Passable
Showed age, poor wifi, no dishwasher, not v clean and lots of ants
Exceptional
Clean, welcoming, easy and great location
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Highly recommend.
Great location and very stylish set up inside the unit. Will definitely use again.
Very good
Fantastic location in Scarborough lovely large unit with everything you would need.
Great location within easy walk to the beach and all the restaurants down there. Close to a Coles. Has a lovely very private outside patio where you can lie in the sun.
What could be improved: No information booklet. Would have been useful. Thought owner very easy to contact and very helpful.
