Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked into Luxurious City Apartment on Mounts Bay Road, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a four-star property in West Perth. But you know what? This place surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself has this modern, understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention — it just quietly delivers on comfort and style. I mean, the name might sound a bit grand, but it actually lives up to it without being pretentious about it.

Location & Neighborhood

West Perth is one of those areas that locals know about but tourists often overlook, and that’s honestly part of its charm. You’re literally minutes from Kings Park (which, trust me, is worth the walk), and the Swan River is right there when you need that peaceful moment. The thing about Mounts Bay Road is that it connects you to everything — the CBD is a quick trip, but you’re not dealing with all that city noise and chaos. I noticed couples seem to really get this location, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about being close enough to the action but still having your own quiet corner of the city.

The Space

The apartment setup here is what really sets this place apart from your typical hotel experience. You get a proper living space that actually feels like home — not just a hotel room with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner. The kitchen is fully equipped, which saved me a fortune on dining out (Perth restaurants aren’t exactly cheap, let’s be honest). Everything’s clean and modern, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in all that gorgeous Australian light. The bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept in, which rarely happens when I’m traveling.

Practical Perks

Here’s what I appreciated most — the little things that make a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The parking situation is sorted, which in Perth is honestly a blessing. You’ve got laundry facilities, decent Wi-Fi, and enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The building’s secure, and the staff, while not hovering, are helpful when you need them. It’s that sweet spot between independence and support that makes extended stays actually enjoyable.

Why Guests Love It

After spending time here, I totally get why recent guests rate the location so highly — it’s one of those spots that just works. Whether you’re in Perth for business, exploring the city, or using it as a base for day trips, this place gives you flexibility without sacrificing comfort. The apartment-style setup means couples can actually relax together instead of being cramped in a standard hotel room. Plus, there’s something satisfying about making your morning coffee in your own kitchenette while looking out over the city. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, but it delivers exactly what you need for a solid Perth stay.

Best hotels in Perth blend rooftop infinity pools, Swan Valley wine tastings, and chef-curated bush-tucker dinners.

Very clean, great facilities, comfy bed and awesome shower.

What could be improved: Road noise takes a bit to get used too

Honest review.

Location was great.

What could be improved: "Avoid this place at all costs! The $25 fee for pool towels and $25 charge for extra for more than 2 towels in the room for a 7-night stay were just the beginning. The room itself was a letdown - highway noise poured in through drafty windows with dusty blinds, the aircon fins were broken, and the TV wasn't smart plus remote was flat. The bed was rock-hard with a massive dip in the center, and the shower was awkwardly positioned over a tub. The blatant misrepresentation in the photos - nothing about this place was "luxurious." The staff were hard to understand, the basement doors were grimy, and the carpark reeked of cigarette smoke from staff smoking. I cut my losses and left after 2 days, despite having booked for 7. Don't believe the hype - this place is a total rip-off."
