Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to East Perth Suites Hotel on Royal Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s got that understated Australian vibe where they don’t feel the need to scream “luxury” at you from the curb. But honestly? That ended up being part of its charm.
The thing about staying here is you’re actually in a proper neighborhood, not some tourist bubble. Royal Street itself is pretty quiet – you know, the kind of street where you hear birds in the morning instead of constant traffic. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the Swan River, which locals will tell you is perfect for an early morning jog if you’re into that sort of thing. The Causeway Bridge is right there too, so getting into the city center is dead easy – though I actually found myself hanging around East Perth more than I expected. There’s this great little café strip along Plain Street that most tourists never discover, and honestly, the coffee’s better than half the places in the CBD.
What really got me about this place was the attention to detail that you don’t notice until you’ve been there a day or two. The suites – and they’re proper suites, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge – have these big windows that actually open (revolutionary concept, right?). The kitchen setups are legit too, with decent cookware and a full-sized fridge, which saved me a fortune on breakfast. You know what’s weird? The shower pressure is phenomenal – I’ve stayed at five-star places where the water barely trickles out, but here it’s like they actually tested it before opening. The beds are firm without being like sleeping on concrete, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve crashed in Perth. Parking’s included too, which anyone who’s driven around Perth will tell you is basically gold – especially since you’re close enough to walk most places anyway. The 8.7 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there; it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but everything just… works. Staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is refreshing in a world of corporate hospitality robots.

Guest Reviews
Great
Location, balcony, easy parking
Superb
Great location, clean rooms, lovely staff. The best thing though, possibly the best water pressure in a shower EVER and we will come back just for that.
Exceptional
The location is great, and there are plenty of eateries etc
What could be improved: Pleased we secured on-site parking, not a lot of street parking, and it could be costly. Otherwise, if you have a vehicle.
