Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of five-star places, but Crown Towers Perth actually feels like they get it right. The moment you pull up on Great Eastern Highway – and honestly, don’t let the address fool you, this isn’t some highway motel situation – you’re hit with this imposing lobby that manages to feel grand without being intimidating. The whole place sits right in Burswood, which is basically Perth’s entertainment district, so you’re walking distance to the casino (obviously, since it’s all connected), Optus Stadium, and surprisingly good restaurants that aren’t just hotel food.
What really struck me was how they handle the little things that other luxury hotels mess up. The elevators are actually fast – I know that sounds silly, but when you’re on the 20th floor and running late, it matters. The rooms have this warm, understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look how expensive I am” but still feels properly luxurious. You know what I mean? Like the marble in the bathrooms is beautiful, but it’s not cold and sterile. And the beds – well, let’s just say I tried to figure out what pillows they use because I wanted them for home. The river views are genuinely spectacular too, especially if you catch the sunset over the Swan River. You can actually see the city skyline and the hills beyond on clear days.
The service hits that sweet spot where staff are attentive without hovering. Check-in was smooth even during what seemed like a busy weekend (there was some big event at the stadium), and they actually remembered my name the next day, which doesn’t always happen at these larger properties. The Crown Spa is worth mentioning – it’s one of those places where you can easily lose half a day if you’re not careful. I mean, their relaxation areas alone are better than most hotel pools. Speaking of pools, theirs overlooks the river and has this infinity edge that photographs beautifully, though it can get crowded during peak times. The only minor gripe I’d have is that parking can be a bit of a maze if you’re not familiar with the complex, but valet service is efficient if you don’t mind the extra cost. Overall, it’s the kind of place that justifies its reputation – that 8.7 rating feels about right, maybe even conservative. You’re paying premium prices, sure, but you’re getting an experience that actually delivers on the five-star promise.

What could be improved: No info on hotel amenities, map etc in room. The eÿepad was not working. A hand out of brochures would have been helpful at checkin.
