West Beach Lagoon 216 – Quiet & Relaxing

Overview

First Impressions

Honestly, when I first pulled up to West Beach Lagoon 216 – Quiet & Relaxing, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. But you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward names tell you exactly what you’re getting. This four-star property in Scarborough delivers on both promises — it’s genuinely quiet and surprisingly relaxing for a place so close to Perth’s bustling beach scene. The fact that there’s free parking right on site was already a win in my book, especially since finding a decent spot near the beach can be a real headache around here.

The Location Sweet Spot

What I love about this place is how it sits just far enough back from the main Scarborough Beach action to avoid the weekend crowds, but you’re still only a few minutes’ walk to the sand. The lagoon views are actually pretty spectacular — I mean, you get this peaceful water outlook without the constant surf noise that some people find overwhelming. Recent guests have been rating the location at 8.7, and I can see why. You’re close enough to West Coast Highway for easy access to Perth city, but tucked away enough that you feel like you’re on a proper beach getaway.

The Room Experience

The room itself feels more like a well-appointed apartment than your typical hotel setup. There’s a proper kitchen area that’s actually functional — not just one of those token kitchenettes with a broken microwave. I appreciated being able to grab fresh seafood from the local markets and cook it myself, though honestly, there are some great dining spots within walking distance if you’d rather not bother. The space feels designed for couples, which makes sense given how popular it is with pairs looking for a romantic escape.

What Sets It Apart

The thing about Scarborough is that it can get pretty hectic, especially during summer weekends when half of Perth descends on the beach. But this property manages to stay above the fray — literally and figuratively. The lagoon setting creates this natural buffer zone that keeps things peaceful. I found myself actually relaxing here, which doesn’t always happen when I’m staying somewhere new. The restaurant scene in the area has really improved over the years too, so you’re not stuck with just fish and chips (though the local fish and chips are pretty decent, not gonna lie).

Why Guests Love It

Look, couples are rating this place highly for good reason — it strikes that perfect balance between being close to everything but far enough away to feel special. The 8.1 overall rating reflects what I experienced: solid accommodation that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You get the beach holiday vibe without the chaos, decent amenities without the pretension, and enough space to actually unwind. Plus, having that parking sorted means you can easily explore other parts of Perth when the mood strikes, but honestly, you might find yourself just wanting to stay put and enjoy the lagoon views.

Nice place but overpriced

Lovely decor, modern and simplistic.

Nice living area.

Handy to have a washing machine.

What could be improved: Kitchen is equipped to quiet a basic level and more utensils required, knives very blunt.

Bedding was super uncomfortable which affected sleep.

Strange smell in the bedroom.

Felt that the property was overpriced.

Great accommodation close to beach with lots of steps

Swimming pool was great but the slide into the pool needed cleaning. Very comfy beds. Management acted very quickly when alerted to broken glass in pool area. Nice wee unit for the price.

What could be improved: Lots of steps, very slippery in the rain.
