Overview
First Impressions
Walking into West Beach Lagoon 213 – Corner Unit! honestly feels like you’ve scored the best spot in the building. This four-star corner unit in Scarborough has those wraparound windows that make you feel like you’re floating above the coastline — and trust me, the views are everything you’d hope for. The space feels bigger than your typical hotel room because, well, it’s actually an apartment-style setup that gives you room to breathe.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what really struck me about this place? The location is genuinely unbeatable — recent guests rated it 9.7, and I can see why. You’re literally steps from West Beach, which is one of those stretches of sand where locals actually hang out (not just tourists). Scarborough has this laid-back vibe that’s hard to find in busier parts of Perth, and the beachfront here is perfect for morning walks or just watching the sunset with a coffee. Couples especially seem to love it here — they’ve given it a 9.6 rating for romantic getaways, and honestly, I get it.
The Space
The corner unit setup is what really sets this apart from your standard hotel experience. You’ve got a proper kitchen that’s actually functional — not one of those tiny hotel kitchenettes where you can barely make toast. I mean, you could genuinely cook a decent meal here if you wanted to grab some fresh seafood from the local markets. The living area flows nicely into the bedroom space, and those corner windows mean you’re getting natural light from two directions most of the day.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that’ll save you headaches — there’s free private parking right on site. Anyone who’s tried to find parking near popular beaches in Perth will appreciate this more than they should. The building itself is well-maintained, and you can tell they actually care about keeping things in good shape. The wifi works properly (always a gamble with beachfront properties), and the air conditioning is solid, which you’ll definitely want during those hot Perth summers.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back is that perfect balance of being close to everything but not right in the thick of tourist chaos. You can walk to decent cafes and the restaurant strip along the esplanade, but you’re not dealing with the crowds you’d get in some of the busier beach towns. The 7.6 overall rating reflects what I experienced — it’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the coast, but it delivers exactly what you want from a beach getaway. The corner unit gives you that little extra space and those killer views that make you want to extend your stay by a few days.

Guest Reviews
Great location, hosts and clean apartment
Great location, snacks and bonbon left which was lovely. Tea. Coffee pods, milk, neat and tidy place. Pool looked great. Easy communication. Cute welcome message. I will definitely stay again.
What could be improved: The stairs up to the unit with luggage, if you have mobility issues, this wouldn't be ideal. Thin wall/roof - neighbours above were a bit noisy. TV isn't a smart TV but wasn't a deal breaker.
Specialist visit in Mt Hawthorne.
The proximity to restaurants and bars, and a great area for walking.
What could be improved: The stairs.
Really enjoyed it and will definitely be back
Location and tropical vibe
What could be improved: Ant problem
Good
Closeness to Beach and esplanade
What could be improved: Banging noises at night
Would stay again, location is great and price matched accommodation. Budget friendly.
Location is excellent. Pool area is lovely and tropical.
What could be improved: Staff looked exhausted, didn’t seem to be many people around to help out. Reception was often unmanned and the women on looked like she was wrecked. Went to check in at 2pm and room was not cleaned so sat downstairs while that was done, which was ok. Not bad budget accommodation.
Basic but brilliant.
Location/price was amazing. Very basic, but fine. But definitely recommend.
What could be improved: Pretty loud at night and the morning. Not sure what it was just just sounded like doors banging every 30 seconds. But it wasn't too bad that I couldn't sleep
Very good
Great location, price & everything we needed
What could be improved: Distance we had to walk from our vehicle to the apartment with our luggage was a bit far. Wasn't nice at all walking up 2 flights of stairs plus over 100mtrs across uneven hilly srface with our. bags & food. Bit much, especially with my elderly mother!
The hot water was shocking! It wasn't even hot, only warm. Once out of water, we were shaking from the cold! Which is really unpleasant in the middle of winter! My elderly mother was at high risk of getting sick from water that's not even hot, shocking! Mum only showered once it was too cold for her.
Easy access to beach and Scarborough
Great location, funky style.
What could be improved: my apartment was right at the far end. The humming of the buildings next door was annoying and the kitchen needed a blind so you could leave your door open at night, it made it hot otherwise with no ceiling fan. A reply in the bedroom would be a nice little addition.
This is a great place to stay within easy walking distance of the main town and amphitheatre, the apartment catered for
Nice size with good size double bed and lounge / Kitchen area.
Very close to beach and local amenities.
a nice unit super close to the beach
fantastic location
