Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Sebel West Perth, you immediately get that feeling of stepping into something a bit more sophisticated than your average four-and-a-half-star hotel. The lobby has this understated elegance — not flashy, but definitely polished in a way that makes you feel like you’ve made a smart choice. What struck me right away was how the staff seemed to actually recognize returning guests, which makes sense given that this place apparently has more repeat visitors than most hotels in the area.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Murray Street in West Perth — it’s one of those spots that locals know is perfectly positioned, even if tourists might overlook it at first glance. You’re literally a few minutes from Kings Park (honestly, some of the best city views in Australia), and the CBD is close enough that you can walk there if you’re feeling energetic or catch a quick ride if you’re not. The neighborhood has that nice residential feel during the day, but you’re still close to decent restaurants and cafes. I mean, couples seem to really get it — they rate the location 8.7 out of 10, which tells you something about how well this area works for people who want to explore Perth properly.
The Rooms
The accommodations at The Sebel West Perth feel more like serviced apartments than traditional hotel rooms, which is actually a huge plus if you’re staying for more than a night or two. You get proper kitchen facilities — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation — plus separate living areas that make the space feel genuinely livable. The beds are comfortable without being overly fancy, and there’s enough storage space that you can actually unpack if you want to settle in for a few days. What I appreciated most was the attention to practical details, like decent lighting for reading and work spaces that actually function.
Practical Perks
One thing that really sets this place apart is the on-site parking — and trust me, if you’ve ever tried to find parking in Perth’s city fringe areas, you’ll know why this matters. It’s not just that they have parking; it’s that it’s private and secure, which means you’re not circling blocks or feeding meters every few hours. The whole setup feels designed for people who might be in town for business or extended stays, with amenities that actually make sense for how people travel these days rather than just checking boxes.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a hotel that people keep coming back to, and The Sebel West Perth has figured out that formula. It’s not trying to be the flashiest option in the city, but it delivers on the things that actually matter — location, comfort, and service that feels genuine rather than scripted. The combination of being close to Perth’s main attractions while maintaining that quieter, more residential atmosphere seems to hit the sweet spot for travelers who want to experience the city without feeling like they’re stuck in a tourist bubble. You know what? Sometimes the best hotels are the ones that just get the fundamentals right.

Superb
Location was excellent for our purposes; apartment had everything we needed; convenient parking (for fee)
What could be improved: Some of the furnishings a bit dated (stains on chairs).
Enjoyable
Good facilities and friendly staff. Easy walk to the city and Kings Park. Good access to free buses.
What could be improved: Inconvenient to not have a table in the studio apartment.
great place to stay with easy, free access to the city.

What could be improved: traffic noise
Very good
Good hotel and great facilities in our room for cooking washing etc.
What could be improved: As the hotel didn’t have a cafe, we would have liked cafes the area that opened over the weekend. Had to catch a bus into centre of town to find any breakfast.
Very good
Location, and pool and gym facilities are very good. Great coffee machine which isn't listed in the amenities.
What could be improved: Minor things like no compendium in the rooms, unlike every other hotel in the world, very basic cooking utensils with no cooking spoon. Big wardrobe but no drawers to unpack clothes. Safe locked.
Very good
Parking easy, easy to get in and out, clean rooms,
What could be improved: No towels for the pool, noisy neighbours on the patio
I enjoyed my stay in Sebel West Perth and it remains my favorite choice.
The gym facilities are good and the pool area is nice and quiet. The housekeeping staff is pleasant and the front desk staff are cheerful and pleasant.
What could be improved: Nothing that I notice.
Happy
Very convenient, free CAT buses to the city - only 3 stops. Restaurants and coffee shops close by although not many open on Sundays.
What could be improved: Nothing
