Overview
So I ended up at the South Perth Executive Apartment on Rose Avenue, and honestly? It’s one of those places that surprises you. You know how some hotels promise the world and deliver plastic cups and scratchy towels? Well, this isn’t that. The moment you walk into these apartments, there’s this immediate sense of “oh, actual adults live here” β proper kitchen with real plates, a couch you’d actually want to sit on, and windows that frame the city like someone planned it that way.
The thing about Rose Avenue is it’s perfectly positioned without being in the thick of things. You’re literally a five-minute walk to the South Perth foreshore, which means you can grab coffee and watch the ferries chug back and forth to the city while joggers and dog walkers do their morning thing. The Perth Zoo is right there too β you can actually hear the lions sometimes in the early morning, which sounds weird but is kind of charming. What really sold me though was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, you’re close enough to the city that you can see all the lights twinkling across the Swan River, but far enough that you’re not dealing with drunk people yelling at 2 AM.
The apartments themselves feel like someone’s well-appointed home rather than a hotel room with delusions of grandeur. The kitchen actually works β I made proper breakfast instead of surviving on minibar snacks and overpriced room service. There’s a washer and dryer, which saved me from that awkward “do I have enough clean underwear for the rest of this trip” calculation. The bed is genuinely comfortable, not just “hotel comfortable,” and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that doesn’t feel like it’s rationing water. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around Perth’s city center will appreciate.
Now, the 7.6 rating makes sense when you consider this place doesn’t have a fancy lobby with marble everything or a concierge in a uniform. It’s more understated than flashy β think quality over Instagram-worthy moments. The staff are helpful without being overly chatty, and check-in was refreshingly efficient. You get the sense they’re used to hosting business travelers and people who know what they want without needing their hand held. If you’re looking for a pool party scene or a bar to meet other travelers, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to feel like you’re actually living in Perth for a few days rather than just passing through, the South Perth Executive Apartment nails it. Plus, you can walk to the ferry terminal and be in the city center in about fifteen minutes, which beats dealing with Perth traffic any day of the week.

Guest Reviews
Very good
The location was great, a few good coffee shops around the corner for breakfast and a Coles for other needs. Lots of places to visit close buy
What could be improved: No microwave in the unit which make preparing a quick dinner or lunch difficult, suggest adding a small microwave
Good
Very convenient and nice walk to river. Coles very close by as well as nice cafes.
What could be improved: Unfortunately has a neighbour who can be a bit noisy at late hours. Not every night though.
We enjoyed our stay for the quiet but easy access to shops and attractions it provided
The apartment was clean and so well located - quiet (after spending the preceding week in Scarborough which must be the drag racing capital of Australia, this was a blessing), close to the coffee shops and markets on Angelo Street, and walking distance to the zoo and the Swan River foreshore. AND the coffee/tea mugs were real mugs - not the smaller white cups often provided by accommodation hosts.
What could be improved: We would have liked:
- a grater
- bedside lights we could read by rather than the low light ones provided
Review, As Requested
The location is amazing in terms of access to services; the apartment is pretty much ready to go, in terms of appliances and the like. Having the back access to the parking area from the patio is also very convenient; saved having to go up and down stairs when you go in and out. Its very comfy, the bed is awesome, plenty of space to store my clothes and luggages; big tv was also cool to have. Its a very liveable apartment, i enjoyed it thoroughly; would have stayed much much longer, if it was cheaper. Thank you for having me βΊοΈπ«‘
What could be improved: The neighbours are extremely aggravatingly loud. With the (non-existent) thickness of the walls in the building; their annoyingness is amplified. But; if you're a heavy sleeper with a taxing job like myself, it shouldn't bother you much to sleep at night. Can't speak for all, but the apartment was also quite dusty when I checked in, and as I have dust allergies my first day was spent just making sure all is fine. Cobwebs dead bugs and the like, nothing super major. The smoke alarm also started beeping out of nowhere my second/third day, but they came out and fixed it quite quickly. I wish this was checked and sorted in the first place, but that's just me being fussy i guess. The electric gate to the parking area also seems to hate me, and refuses to work 3 times out of 4 π€£
No deal breakers though, lovely spot for short term stays; wouldnt recommend staying longer with the price.... its up there alright, that's for sure (price-wise); and not in a good way.
Nice location for access to family. Good size and quiet neighbours.
Location near Angelo Street facilities and bus. Easy access at ground level.
What could be improved: Door locks were confusing.
A SERENE LOCATION, ADEQUATE CLEAN QUAINT APARTMENT WITH EASY CLOSE ACCESS TO THE RIVER AND SHOPS.
I ENJOYED THE QUITENESS OF THE AREA.
I ENJOYED THE CONVENIENCE OF THE RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS ROUND THE CORNER.
THE SECURITY WAS ADEQUATE.
What could be improved: THE KEY LOCK MECHANISM TO THE GATE TO THE CAR PARK DIDN'T WORK.
was a great stay, clean comfortable and quiet.
What could be improved: there was no official wifi password left at the house. it was only a handwritten note that a previous guest had left in the book.
black mould in the shower
Great location, good host and be prepared for a minimalist reno applied to an older style apartment.
Location, communication, parking.
What could be improved: Very obvious minimal spend budget renovation and not to a high quality. eg. no curtains as shown in photos, laminate peeling off bathroom cabinet, non matching furniture, loose contact on window between bedroom and bedroom. Needs some TLC and a few more coats of paint.
Great.
Super clean with no odours. Quite. Bed was perfectly comfortable. Shops were just around the corner.
What could be improved: This is more of a suggestion than a criticism; it would be great to have a USB port to charge a phone.
Great location for us
The apartment is handy to the river, grocery shopping and cafes and restaurants. We chose this because it was close to family and friends.
Neat and tidy. Good for a short stay for a couple.
The managers/owners were very accommodating and answered questions in a reasonable time.
What could be improved: The door locking both front and back takes a bit of getting used to. Dripping tap and dripping from upstairs aircon was a bit annoying. But to be fair they were all pretty minor.
Would happily stay again.
