Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Small Moments on Victoria Avenue, you immediately get why this four-star boutique hotel has such a devoted following. The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there — it’s all about those little touches that make you pause and think “oh, that’s nice.” The lobby isn’t trying to impress you with marble columns or chandeliers, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the space that feels more like stepping into a well-designed friend’s home than a typical hotel.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location is probably the hotel’s biggest win. You’re right in the heart of Perth CBD, which means you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing without dealing with taxis or public transport. I mean, you’re literally steps from the main shopping strips and about a five-minute stroll to the Swan River. What I really appreciated was how quiet Victoria Avenue stays despite being so central — you get all the benefits of being downtown without the constant traffic noise that usually comes with it.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed, and you know what? Sometimes smaller spaces just work better when every inch has been considered. The bed was genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable — and the bathroom had this rainfall shower that actually delivered decent water pressure. There’s no kitchenette, but honestly, with so many good cafes and restaurant within walking distance, I didn’t miss having one. The windows are well-insulated too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to sleep in a city center location.
Service & Atmosphere
The staff here seem to actually care about what they’re doing, which isn’t something you can say about every hotel. They’re not overly formal or scripted — just helpful when you need them and invisible when you don’t. I asked for restaurant recommendations twice during my stay, and both suggestions were spot-on, the kind of local knowledge that makes you think they actually eat at these places themselves. The whole vibe is relaxed but professional, if that makes sense.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Small Moments isn’t going to blow you away with a fancy spa or multiple dining options, but it does exactly what it promises really well. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something romantic about the intimate scale and attention to detail that works perfectly for weekend getaways or special occasions. The location score of 8.7 isn’t just a number; when you’re wandering back from dinner and realize you’re already at your hotel door, you’ll understand why people rate it so highly. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to book your next Perth trip before you’ve even checked out.

Guest Reviews
Superb
Host communicated well but the place is just ok.
Good location.
What could be improved: Nothing provided - no soap / shampoo for example. The milk in the fridge was out of date 2 months...The foyer is dated at best. Room isn't any bigger than a hotel room.
The apartment was modern, well appointed and walk to city centre
N/A. Apartment- we had our own.
What could be improved: We arrived a little early; met the cleaner who indicated the room would be ready by 2pm. We came back to building, waited and had to phone owner twice to finally get key fob. The cleaner did not replenish hand soap in bathroom, completely empty!
Very good
Great Relaxation
Very comfortable and peaceful. A bit far from CBD but public transport is nearby. Coffee machine was a bonus as was cooking facilities.
What could be improved: Bit noisy after 10pm from traffic and pedestrians outside building.
Great location. Nice apartment for short stays
Comfortable, clean, tidy and great location. Well equipped kitchen.
Coffee pod machine was an added bonus
Great communication and easy access to property
What could be improved: The lift was a little noisy
Terrible - priced like a motel suite, but it's an old overpriced air bnb.
There is nothing to like about this.
What could be improved: This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed at. It is a poorly managed air bnb apartment. When I arrived, the keypad on the room would not work. The only contact I had from the host was an email address. It was 7:00 pm at night and as I could not get in, I had to walk with my luggage and book into the closet hotel (the Duxton) which cost me an extra $250 for the night. I finally found a contact mobile phone number on booking.com and called the host who met me the next morning with a key. No apology. No offer of a refund. The apartment block is old, the entrance and lifts are dirty and it feels like a hostel. The apartment has a washing machine but no dryer. I ran out of toilet paper and could not find a second roll. The clothes hanger in the cupboard fell to the floor when I hung up some shirts. The fittings are cheap and it has awful decor. It is not a nice place to stay.
Very good
Small but spacious well laid out and equiped unit.
Exceptional
The room so spacious, clean and comfortable with high end kitchen appliances
The Apartment walking distance to everywhere so close to CBD & Elizabeth quay
Super host !
