Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Pensione Hotel Perth on Pier Street, you immediately get that cozy, no-nonsense vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something good. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Perth CBD, and honestly — the location alone makes it worth considering. It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard but gets the fundamentals absolutely right.
Location & Getting Around
You know what really struck me about this spot? You’re literally in the thick of everything without the chaos that usually comes with being so central. Pier Street puts you within walking distance of the major shopping areas, and I mean actually walkable — not that “10-minute walk” that turns into 20. The couples who stay here consistently rave about the location, and I can see why. There’s something about being able to duck out for coffee or dinner without needing to plan your whole evening around transport. Plus, the hotel has private parking, which anyone who’s tried to park in Perth CBD will tell you is basically gold.
The Room Experience
Here’s where this place really shines — the beds are genuinely comfortable, and I’m not just saying that. You know how hotel beds can be hit or miss? Well, guests consistently mention getting proper sleep here, which tells you everything you need to know. The room itself won’t win any design awards, but it’s clean, functional, and has that lived-in comfort that makes you want to extend your stay. The whole setup feels more like staying at a well-run guesthouse than a sterile hotel chain.
What Sets It Apart
There’s something to be said for a place that keeps bringing people back — and this hotel has more repeat guests than most properties in the area. I think it’s because they’ve figured out that travelers want reliability over flashiness. The staff actually remember faces, which is rare these days, and there’s a genuine warmth to the service that feels authentic rather than scripted. It’s the kind of place where you can ask for local recommendations and get honest answers instead of tourist traps.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a place that’s going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. What it will do is give you a solid base in an excellent location, ensure you sleep well, and treat you like a person rather than a room number. The 8.2 rating speaks to consistent quality — guests know what they’re getting and they’re happy with it. For the price point and location, it’s actually quite hard to beat, especially if you’re the type of traveler who spends most of their time exploring the city rather than hanging around the hotel.

Guest Reviews
Comfortable room in city centre.
The bedding was amazing.
Clean and comfortable room.
What could be improved: The noise from outside comes through quite loudly.
I woke up with the noise of someone taking a shower in their bathroom.
Excellent!
Great location, good value for money, great staff, great service, they were able to give me an early check in and late check out. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
What could be improved: Probably the stairs at the front there is no ramp for heavier suitcases. That’s it.
Would definitely stay again
Great location, room was nice and clean.
What could be improved: Staying on the first floor, I felt like I couldn’t have the blinds open as felt like people could see in.
Good
What could be improved: Loud music from room above
Noise from the corridor
Great location, friendly staff
Awesome location. Staff were very kind, helpful and accomodating. Beautiful lobby entrance, small but sufficient rooms, good to have a mini fridge and a jug with cups. Lots of channels on the tv, and heatpump with ability to change your own temp in the room. Cosy vibe.
What could be improved: "Didn't like" feels like a a strong statement but we noticed it could have been just slightly cleaner. There was lollies under the bed when we arrived from a previous guest and the cups and glasses had been through the dishwasher but still had lipstick on the rim.
Great for a short stay. Clean and comfortable great location
Clean. Great location. Nice room. Helpful staff.
What could be improved: Rooms are small. Its ideal for a business trip rather than a holiday. Parking is better across the road at the Pier Street car park
Perfect place to stay close to everything, it was very clean, we would stay again
Very clean, great location
What could be improved: Nothing
Good
Bed super comfy.
What could be improved: The aircon wasn’t the best.
Hidden gem
Easy checkin, very clean, bed was super comfy
What could be improved: Nothing… all great
Superb
Comfy bed, good shower.
What could be improved: Though th location was very handy to the CBD, it was a little dodgy at night.
