Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Inner City Bliss on Mounts Bay Road, you immediately get why couples rate this place so highly. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels welcoming rather than intimidating — honestly, it’s the kind of place where you can show up in travel clothes and still feel comfortable. The staff actually remembers your name after the first interaction, which is refreshing in a four-star property where you might expect things to feel more impersonal.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re right in Perth CBD, but Mounts Bay Road keeps you just far enough from the chaos while still being walkable to everything that matters. The Swan River is literally across the street, and I mean literally — you can watch the sunrise over the water from some rooms. Kings Park is a ten-minute stroll, which locals will tell you is one of the best urban parks in the world (and they’re not wrong). You can walk to the business district for meetings, then wander down to Elizabeth Quay for dinner without needing transport.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had floor-to-ceiling windows that made the space feel twice its actual size. The design leans modern but not cold — think clean lines with warm timber accents that actually work together. What impressed me most was the attention to small details: proper blackout curtains (essential when you’re dealing with jet lag), a coffee machine that doesn’t require an engineering degree, and bathroom amenities that don’t feel like an afterthought. The beds are seriously comfortable, and I’m someone who usually struggles sleeping anywhere that isn’t home.
Dining and Amenities
The on-site restaurant serves food that’s genuinely good rather than just hotel-acceptable — their breakfast menu has options beyond the standard continental spread, and the dinner menu changes seasonally. I appreciated that they source locally when possible, which you can actually taste in the ingredients. There’s also a fitness center that’s well-equipped without being overwhelming, and the spa offers treatments that feel worth the splurge. Parking is available on-site, which anyone who’s tried to park in Perth CBD will appreciate.
Why Guests Love It
What sets Inner City Bliss apart is how it balances being sophisticated without feeling stuffy. The couples who rate it highly aren’t wrong — there’s something romantic about the river views and the way the city lights reflect off the water at night. But honestly, it works just as well for business travelers who want to feel human after long days, or solo travelers who appreciate being in the heart of things without the noise. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience rather than just going through the motions, and in a city like Perth where genuine hospitality can sometimes feel rare, that makes all the difference.
To book a hotel in Perth during Fringe World, visitors plan ahead to mix open-air cabaret with rooftop cocktails in Northbridge.

Guest Reviews
A compendium would be handy with info about location of closest bottle shop, coffee shop, etc.
Location was good.
What could be improved: Verandah could do with a clean. Cobwebs and cigarette ashes. The bedroom window shutter needs lubrication as the window was partially open until I wound it in and out a couple of times. TV needs replacing.
