Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Perth CBD, and the ibis on Murray Street honestly surprised me in the best way. When you first walk in, it’s got that clean, modern vibe without trying too hard to be fancy – you know what I mean? The lobby’s actually pretty welcoming, and the staff seem genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the place that I really appreciated.
What really works here is the location – and I’m not just saying that because every hotel claims to have a great location. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Perth Underground station, which is clutch if you’re planning to explore beyond the city center. But honestly, you might not need to venture far because you’ve got Forrest Place right there with all the shopping, plus you can easily wander down to the Swan River without breaking a sweat. The rooms themselves are compact but well thought out – they’ve managed to fit everything you actually need without making it feel cramped. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the air conditioning works properly, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places get that wrong.
Here’s the thing though – Murray Street can get a bit lively, especially on weekends, so if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe request a room facing away from the street. The breakfast situation is decent, nothing revolutionary but solid coffee and enough variety to fuel your day. Parking’s available but it’ll cost you extra, which is pretty standard for CBD hotels. What I really liked was how the whole place feels… authentic, I guess? It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and the 7.9 rating makes perfect sense – it’s genuinely good at what it sets out to do. Whether you’re in Perth for business or just exploring, this place gets you sorted without any drama, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Guest Reviews
Great value for money and a great location
The rooms were large. They had everything I needed. They have been done up so we’re modern design. Close to the Perth CBD - everything was a 5 minute walk. Grocery shop and restaurant all close by. Staff friendly and buffet breakfast was delicious.
What could be improved: It was cold when I was there -
So I would have like to be able to put some heating on. But I do understand it was cooler than it generally gets in Perth when I was there.
Good
perfect location
What could be improved: shower too small
Excellent. I would definitely stay again
Central location for 1 night within walking distance to the places I wanted to go to - His Majesty’s Theatre, St Mary’s Cathedral and Light Years restaurant.
Enjoyable weekend in the city
The breakfast was good with a good variety and staff were very friendly and helpful. We chose the ibis especially for location
What could be improved: We were satisfied with our experience
Short but sweet.
Room was small but clean. Just what we needed.
What could be improved: Not all lifts were working so had to wait awhile to go up and down.
Superb
Was quiet to sleep
What could be improved: I ordered 3 single beds and got a double and a single.
Excelent stay at the Perth Ibis.
Excelent location providing easy access to Central Perth. Barrack Street for the Rotness ferry is 20 mins walk and the Hop on Bus stops virtually outside.
The room was very comfortable with everything we needed.
We also used room service and the food was excellent.
What could be improved: Housekeeping forgot to service the room on the last day but no big deal as towels etc were provided quickly on request.
Excellent location for public transoport
Room was very comfortable , clean & tidy.

What could be improved: No wine glasses in room,
Easy, comfortable and good location.
Great location, good service. Staff friendly and helpful. Bed very comfy.
What could be improved: Shower hot water pressure very poor.
