Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked into 501 Sky High Cbd Style With Parkingpool, I’ll be honest — the name had me curious, but the reality exceeded whatever I was expecting. This four-star property sits right on Mounts Bay Road, and you immediately get why couples rate it so highly for romantic getaways. The lobby has this modern, sleek vibe that feels sophisticated without being stuffy, and the staff actually seemed genuinely happy to see guests arrive.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about staying in Perth CBD — you’re walking distance from basically everything that matters. From this spot on Mounts Bay Road, Kings Park is literally a five-minute stroll, which means you can catch sunrise over the city without dealing with traffic or parking hassles. The Swan River is right there too, and honestly, the location score of 8.4 makes total sense once you’re here. You know what’s really nice? You can walk to the business district for meetings, then wander down to Elizabeth Quay for dinner without needing a car.
The Room Experience
My room was on the higher floors (hence the “sky high” part of the name, I guess), and the views were genuinely impressive — not just marketing fluff. The space felt modern and well-thought-out, with floor-to-ceiling windows that actually open, which is rarer than you’d think in newer buildings. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the blackout curtains since Perth gets those intense summer sunrises. The bathroom was clean and functional, though nothing too fancy — but honestly, that’s fine when everything else works well.
Practical Perks
Let me tell you about the pool situation — it’s not huge, but it’s there and it’s clean, which is more than a lot of city hotels can say. What really sold me though was the free private parking on site. If you’ve ever tried to park in Perth CBD, you’ll understand why this is actually a big deal. No circling blocks looking for street parking, no paying $30 a day for some sketchy lot three blocks away. You just pull up, park, and you’re done. The whole property feels well-maintained too — elevators work quickly, common areas stay clean, and the little details like good water pressure and reliable wifi actually function properly.
Why Guests Love It
After spending a few nights here, I get why couples especially gravitate toward this place. It’s got that sweet spot of being central enough to explore easily, but quiet enough that you’re not dealing with street noise all night. The combination of river proximity, park access, and city convenience is pretty hard to beat in Perth. Plus, the fact that you can actually park your car and forget about it for your entire stay removes one of those annoying travel stresses. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a city.

What could be improved: None
Beware of being asked to pay more money!!
Location was fantastic and really convenient. Property was clean and nice.
What could be improved: The property management was so stressful to deal with and they kept asking for additional extra sums of money. We paid for the accommodation in full on booking.com (around $1000) and even after we paid the additional cleaning deposit of $250 we were being asked for more money, even during the stay!
Firstly they stated that booking.com had incorrectly charged us and we now owed them a further $450 for our accommodation booking, then we were asked for an additional $91 and then $250. It was a crazy amount of back and forth to sort out with both Staycays and Booking.com and they didn’t even acknowledge or apologise for their errors. It felt scammy. Also all of the links to pay the cleaning deposit were broken so we were stressed the accommodation would get cancelled.
The deposit wasn’t automatically refunded and I had to call the management again to follow up. The girl who usually dealt with the refunds of bonds was away but another lady did check it out and refunded straight away (she was lovely on the phone)
Unfortunately we wouldn’t stay again due to this but the location and actual property was great.
Over all the place definitely could do with an upgrade of a few things but otherwise was lovely.
Location was exactly what we wanted and the size of the apartment was perfect.
What could be improved: Unfortunately my daughter felt an electrical zap from the shower. The way it was handled was good but then we didn’t have a working stove top after due to a fault. Although we got the all clear to shower unfortunately we were all too nervous to use it after. The photos showed an oven but the apartment had 2 microwaves/one an air fryer that definitely was more complicated to cook the meal i had planed. There was also a strange smell that we couldn’t quite figure out.
Pleasant
Yes
What could be improved: Clean & Tidy
Good
Was clean and comfortable, close to the city. Great for what we needed.
What could be improved: There were no plugs for the sink or bath. And no flannels provided.
was ok waiting on return of the bond
location
What could be improved: directions to car park confusing as there are a number of number 23 car parks and had other cars in them
