Overview
You know what? The Crowne Plaza Perth actually surprised me. I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to it on Terrace Road, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like another corporate hotel tower. But once you’re inside, it’s got this polished, comfortable vibe that feels way more upscale than some of the other 4-star places scattered around the CBD.
The location is honestly one of its biggest selling points, though they don’t need to oversell it. You’re right there in the thick of things – I mean, you can walk to the Swan River in about five minutes, and all the main shopping along Murray and Hay Streets is basically on your doorstep. What I really appreciated was how quiet my room was despite being so central. The windows actually do their job, which isn’t always a given in busy city hotels. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from IHG – clean, modern, decent-sized bathroom – but there’s something about the way they’ve done the interiors that feels less cookie-cutter than usual. Maybe it’s the local artwork on the walls, or just that the furniture doesn’t look like it came from the same catalog as every other business hotel.
Here’s the thing that really won me over though: the staff actually seem to know Perth. When I asked the concierge about getting to Fremantle, he didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map – he told me which train to catch and mentioned that the weekend markets were worth the trip. Small stuff like that makes a difference when you’re trying to get a feel for a new city. The breakfast situation is solid too, especially if you time it right – go early (around 7am) and you’ll have your pick of everything without the crowds. I’d say the 7.8 rating is pretty fair – it’s not going to blow you away, but it delivers exactly what you need without any unpleasant surprises. The pool area up top is smaller than it looks in photos, but honestly, if you’re staying in Perth’s CBD, you’re probably not spending much time lounging by the pool anyway. For business travelers or anyone who wants to be walking distance from everything without paying premium prices, this place hits the sweet spot.

Guest Reviews
Enjoyable, well located and friendly staff.
Room was good size and nicely appointed. The Gusti was pleasant to have dinner and breakfast.
What could be improved: Parking costs.
Excellent stay
Room is very clean. Location is very serene
What could be improved: Aircon cannot be controlled digitally
I would definitely stay here if in Perth for a layover
We had a late night flight from Perth and the staff were really helpful in directing us to hotel facilities we could use to help fill the day, storing (and unstoring) our luggage, and ensuring we were comfortable. The gym is big enough to manage a decent workout and there is a free laundry for guests with very clean machines, and complementary powder. Amazing!
What could be improved: It was all fantastic. Although, I gotta say that the TV is not intuitive but we worked it out in the end. They had free to air channels and you can login to your own subscriptions.
Great view away from hustle but close to everything
Great view, helpful staff, great location
What could be improved: Decor a little tired and small bath
Good but paying for parking just ruins it.
Very nice over all
What could be improved: I didn’t realise I would be charged extra for parking my car overnight.
I won’t be staying again for that reason. I would have booked somewhere else if that was stated when I was booking.
Very good
Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff.
Room service was very quick and food was great.
Very good
Location and staff
What could be improved: Temp in room was very hot
Good
Enjoy the view and peace of quiet slept very well
The bath was amazing and the staff were very helpful and friendly
What could be improved: The doona didn't have a proper quilt cover was just a linen cover that was coming off
It should be a proper doona cover
Very pleasant overall.
Location excellent. A bit if noise associated with the renovations but looking forward to hearing from you when they are complete.
What could be improved: The shower I. The bathtub but, obviously this will be rectified with the renovations.
Loved the view and the breakfast, we saw the Rugby team from NZ as well!
Fabulous view and great restaurant. Breakfast was yummy!
What could be improved: It was cold in the pool! Still it was Autumn. The cocktail Happy Hour was only on weird days.
