Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Coastal Living Iconic Scarborough Beach, I’ll be honest — the name had me expecting something a bit more flashy. But this four-star property actually surprised me with its understated elegance. The building sits right on West Coast Highway, and you immediately get that beachside vibe without the over-the-top resort feel. What really caught my attention was how effortless everything felt, from checking in to finding parking (which, let’s face it, is usually a nightmare near popular beaches).
Location That Actually Delivers
I mean, when recent guests rate the location 9.6 out of 10, you know something’s working. Scarborough Beach is literally a few minutes’ walk away, and not just any stretch — you’re hitting one of Perth’s most vibrant beach scenes. The morning coffee runs along the esplanade became part of my routine, and honestly, watching the sunrise over the Indian Ocean never got old. You’re also close enough to the city that a quick drive gets you to Perth’s CBD, but far enough out that you actually feel like you’re on a proper beach holiday.
The Room Experience
My room had this clean, coastal aesthetic that didn’t try too hard — think modern Australian beach house rather than generic hotel chain. The windows were generous, and if you snag an ocean-facing unit, the views are genuinely spectacular. The beds were comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had that rainfall shower that actually works properly. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough power outlets, and blackout curtains that actually block out the morning sun when you want to sleep in.
Dining and Amenities
The on-site restaurant serves up solid modern Australian fare with a focus on fresh seafood — which makes sense given the location. I had some of the best barramundi I’ve tasted outside of the Northern Territory, and their breakfast spread hits all the right notes without being overwhelming. The staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about local wine pairings too. Beyond dining, the property keeps things simple but effective — there’s a decent fitness setup and common areas that actually encourage you to linger rather than just pass through.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really sets this place apart? It’s that sweet spot between being polished enough for a romantic getaway (couples definitely seem to gravitate here) but relaxed enough that you don’t feel like you need to dress up for breakfast. The free private parking might sound like a small thing, but when you’re dealing with Scarborough’s busy beach scene, it’s actually huge. Plus, the staff strikes that perfect balance — helpful when you need them, invisible when you don’t. It’s the kind of place where you can have a proper beach holiday without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist trap.

Beach stay vacation
Location and view
What could be improved: Could have been cleaner
Superb
What could be improved: 42 stairs to the apartment if you were elderly or disabled you could not get there
I loved it great location clean fresh
Everything
What could be improved: Nothing to report
Great unit, good views
The welcome gift and message
What could be improved: The instructions on how to park. They need to state that the parking is accessed from The Esplanade behind the complex.
Coastal stay
Great location
Everything we needed
Just bring Ur clothes
Ita a scamming property! We do not recommend any property from this myholidaywa company!
It was terribly fullfil of dusty! The worst experience for my family ever!
What could be improved: The property manager didnt support our concerns, offer a complimentary place that was a bit better, although we just accepted coz we didnt have another place to go!
Satisfactory
Location superb. Short stroll to shops, beach cafes.
What could be improved: Buildings are a bit old and tired. Pool not in the best shape
Relaxing ocean views
It was clean on the surface and light and bright with a small water view
What could be improved: Could do with a spring clean even door tracks need cleaning and a few maintenance issues need attention. 4 taps leaking badly, few blinds need repairs before they fall out and the one near the door needs replacing. Plus a blind needed at the sink area.
I still had a nice stay, however the property needs some work given the asking price.
Great location and pool area. Good for families.
What could be improved: Floors weren’t clean. Blind near front door is broken, and no blind on kitchen window meant lack of privacy. Main bedroom sliding door is old, not sealed, not aligned therefore not locking, and continuously banging in the wind even though the unit was fully closed - the door barely blocks out any noise from the highway. Could do with new cutlery and drinking glasses to replace the free Hungry Jacks glasses.
Good
Good location everything you need kitchen etcetera.
What could be improved: A bit tired & run down
