Overview
You know what surprised me most about Citadines St Georges Terrace? It’s actually got this quiet, residential feel despite being smack in the middle of Perth’s business district. I mean, you’re literally on one of the city’s main arterials, but somehow the building design keeps most of the street noise at bay – well, except for the early morning garbage trucks, but honestly, that’s every hotel in the CBD.
The serviced apartment setup is where this place really shines. These aren’t your typical cramped hotel rooms with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner. The kitchenettes are properly thought out – full-sized fridge, decent cooktop, and enough counter space to actually prepare a meal. I found myself walking down to the IGA on Hay Street (it’s maybe a three-minute walk) to grab groceries instead of eating out every night, which honestly saved me a fortune. The washing machines in each unit are a game-changer too, especially if you’re staying more than a few days. There’s something oddly satisfying about doing laundry while watching the office workers scurry around on St Georges Terrace below.
Location-wise, you’re golden here. The Perth train station is close enough that you can hear the announcements if your windows are open – some people might find that annoying, but I actually liked knowing when the Fremantle line was running late. Elizabeth Quay is a proper five-minute stroll, and you can cut through the laneways to get to the main shopping areas without dealing with the crowds on the pedestrian malls. The building itself sits right where the business district starts getting interesting – you’ve got those new small bars tucked into the ground floors of the heritage buildings, and the weekend farmer’s markets are an easy walk. Check-in was surprisingly smooth for a 4-star place, though the lobby feels a bit corporate – not in a bad way, just very… efficient. The staff seem to know their stuff about getting around Perth, which is more helpful than you’d think since the city’s public transport can be a bit of a puzzle for visitors. One thing I’ll say – the rooms facing the terrace can get pretty bright in the morning with all that Perth sun, so if you’re sensitive to light, maybe ask for something facing the other direction. But honestly, with an 8.4 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and for me, it was the perfect base for exploring Perth without feeling like I was living out of a suitcase.

What could be improved: No onsite restaurant
Excellent staff, pleasant stay.
The staff were exceptional, helpful with good recommendations for restaurants, etc. Our room for 2 nights was clean, spacious, with a well serviced lift. Desk was open 24/7.
Very good
Friendly staff.
Superb
Fantastic central location in Perth CBD close to public transport, including Elizabeth Quay Busport.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable amenities.
Basic accommodation but a great location
The central location was ideal for walking, transport and restaurants.
What could be improved: The bathroom was very dated and not a pleasant environment although clean enough.
The kitchen facilities were basic (just enough cutlery, plates etc for one). The kitchen appliances - toaster, kettle - were old and need replaced. Drawers were off their runners - a bit tacky and cheap.
Disappointing / inconvenient that no washing machine /dryer available in the apartment although communal laundry room available on same floor.
Superb
Quiet location in the CBD area.
What could be improved: None
