Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw this place listed as “Perth city & pool view 2bedroom-1 King bd and 2 Single bd,” I almost scrolled past it thinking it was some generic apartment rental. But you know what? That unglamorous name actually undersells what’s a pretty solid spot right on Mounts Bay Road.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Perth at all. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Kings Park – and I mean the good entrance, not the one where you have to hike uphill for ages. The apartment sits in one of those newer developments that’s managed to snag both city skyline views and glimpses of the Swan River, which honestly makes morning coffee feel a bit more civilized than it should. The pool area (yeah, there’s a decent-sized one) gets sun most of the day, and it’s usually pretty quiet during weekdays – weekends can get a bit more family-oriented, but nothing too chaotic.
What I really appreciated was how the two-bedroom setup actually works for different travel situations. The king bed is in the main bedroom which gets the better view, while the twin singles are perfect if you’re traveling with kids or, well, friends who don’t want to share a bed. The kitchen is properly equipped too – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation. There’s a full-sized fridge, decent cooktop, and enough counter space to actually prep meals if you’re trying to save money or just prefer eating in sometimes. The grocery store is about a five-minute walk down toward the city, so you’re not stuck ordering takeout every night.
Parking can be a bit of a thing around here (street parking fills up pretty quickly in the evenings), but the building has secure parking which honestly makes it worth it – especially if you’re planning day trips out to Fremantle or up to the wineries. The 8.6 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not luxury, but everything works properly and the building management seems to actually care about maintenance. Check-in was smooth, no weird key pickup situations or confusing instructions. The air conditioning works well too, which you’ll definitely appreciate during Perth summers – though even in winter, the afternoon sun can make these west-facing apartments pretty warm.
The neighborhood itself is quieter than you’d expect being this close to the city center. You get some traffic noise from Mounts Bay Road, but it’s not the kind that keeps you awake unless you’re really sensitive to that stuff. What’s nice is you can walk into the city center in about fifteen minutes, or catch a bus right outside if you don’t feel like the walk. The restaurant scene around here is pretty good too – there’s a solid Italian place two blocks over that locals actually go to, and the coffee shop on the corner does proper flat whites, not tourist coffee.
For a 4-star place, it delivers on comfort without trying too hard to impress. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want – somewhere that feels like a proper home base while you’re exploring Perth, without the fuss of a hotel but with better amenities than most short-term rentals.

WELL DONE 👏 .
Exceptional
The aesthetically styled living room was very spacious and it's the first thing you notice as you walk in. The smart TV was large and came with many streaming apps and was high quality.
The balcony area was very nice to relax on and there was a tennis court just below and the host had provided two tennis rackets and a bag of tennis balls for us to use whenever we wanted to play.
There was also quite a good view of the city from the balcony and it looked great at night.
The beds were very cozy and comfortable and the kitchen area was very well stocked and fairly spacious. The washer and dryer was packed away neatly and wasn't too loud (full spin) when inside the cupboard.
The bathroom is very nice and the shower/bathtub combination is quite spacious and has great water pressure.
The building is just on the edge of the city and gives you easy access to everything in the CBD even though it is fairly close to quite a main road with the windows shut it was very quiet. (And even when open it wasn't too loud or anything)
It was right across the road from Kings Park which is a beautiful natural botanical garden and is great to walk or bike around.
Jacobs Ladder is just a couple hundred meters down the road which is a great visit and I must see/do if you ever visit Perth. At the top is another beautiful garden area for you to walk or bike around with incredible views of the river and city.
What could be improved: The kitchen bench wasn't very spacious if you wanted to do a lot of cooking.
