Overview
First Impressions
Pulling up to Aurea Hotel Perth Kings Park on Mounts Bay Road, the first thing you notice is how well it sits in its surroundings — there’s a sense of calm here that you don’t always get from a city hotel. It’s a four-star property, and honestly, it carries that rating with a quiet confidence rather than trying too hard to impress. The staff at check-in were genuinely warm, the kind of welcome that makes you feel like you’ve made a good choice.
Location & Neighbourhood
The address puts you right on the edge of Perth CBD, which is a genuinely useful spot to be. Kings Park is practically on your doorstep — and if you haven’t walked through Kings Park at sunrise or late afternoon, well, you’re missing one of the better free experiences this city offers. Couples especially seem to gravitate toward this hotel, and it’s easy to see why — the setting along Mounts Bay Road has a certain romance to it, with the Swan River not far off and the park greenery framing everything nicely. Guests have rated the location 8.7 for two-person trips, and that tracks with what you actually experience staying here.
The Room
Rooms are comfortable and well put together — nothing overly fussy, which I actually appreciate. You get good natural light depending on which side you’re on, and the beds are the kind you sink into after a day of walking around the city. It’s not a sprawling suite situation, but the space is used sensibly and everything feels maintained properly. I mean, at this level you want things to just work, and they do.
Breakfast & Parking
The buffet breakfast is worth factoring into your stay — it’s a proper spread, the sort that sets you up well before heading out to explore. Honestly, starting the day with a solid meal before walking over to Kings Park or heading into the CBD makes a real difference. One thing that’s easy to overlook when booking a city hotel is parking, and it’s worth knowing that free private parking is available here — that’s not a given in Perth’s city centre and it saves you a surprising amount of hassle if you’re driving.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Aurea Hotel Perth Kings Park — and you can see it in the 8.5 overall rating — is that it delivers on the things that actually matter without overcomplicating the experience. The location does a lot of the heavy lifting, sitting between the greenery of Kings Park and the energy of the city centre in a way that feels genuinely balanced. It’s the kind of hotel that works for a weekend away with a partner, a stopover before a longer trip, or just a few nights in Perth where you want to feel settled rather than just housed. There’s something to be said for a place that knows what it is and does it well — and this one sort of nails that.

Guest Reviews
Lovely Stay!
It is a lovely hotel with essential amenities. It is great for a work trip. The staff was professional and warm even in the early mornings. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
What could be improved: The location is not as close to the CBD as it appears in the description, and the pinpoint location does not capture it on the GPS, making it hard for Uber to get in. During rainy days, it was more of a trouble. A gym in the facility would be great, and breakfast was poor.
Exceptional

What could be improved: Small car parking area, and bays
Superb
Great Breakfast very convenient location
Exceptional
Very comfortable bed, with a great shower and very friendly staff
What could be improved: Not quite as close to Kings Park as it looks on the map because of the rock face
Welcoming and comfortable base, especially for those who are driving.
This refurbished hotel is smart and welcoming. The staff were excellent and the rooms are good. Slightly surprisingly for a relatively small hotel, it even has its own restaurant, which we did not try but seemed very welcoming, even if the choice is inevitably limited. A big plus is parking, rare near the city, though it is not very large and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The green "lung" park opposite the hotel is an interesting place to explore.
What could be improved: No real negatives. The location would no suit those who wish/need to walk to the city, but for drivers it is fine.
enjoyable with friendly staff
the location was good for our planned activities ,the breakfast was delicious, a nice quiet place to stay ,very clean
Clean and modern with amazing food.
The food was amazing. We had dinner and breakfast.
Aurea is lovely and modern inside. Free parking was a bonus.
What could be improved: The balconies were tiny, no outdoor chairs.
They really need an area to sit to have a drink other than on the bar stools or at the dining tables.
Very good
Location
Easy walk from the city and nicely finished rooms
Lovely finish in rooms and very welcoming staff.
What could be improved: Noise from other guests letting door slam
Ok
