Overview
You know what struck me first about this place? The fact that they actually delivered on the parking promise – and I mean really delivered. Finding a spot in West Perth can be absolutely brutal, especially around Wellington Street where every second building seems to be under construction these days. But here’s the thing: you pull up to 2 Royal Rest and there’s your designated spot waiting, no drama, no circling blocks for twenty minutes while your partner gets increasingly cranky in the passenger seat.
The apartment itself is honestly better than most hotels I’ve stayed in around Perth. Two proper bedrooms, not those weird hotel configurations where one “bedroom” is basically a living room with a fold-out couch. The kitchen’s got everything you actually need – proper coffee maker (thank god), full-size fridge, even decent knives that can cut through more than just butter. I mean, after staying in places where the kitchenette is basically a bar fridge and a microwave, this feels like luxury. The living area’s got this relaxed vibe, nothing too fancy but comfortable enough that you’re not counting down the hours until you can escape back to the real world.
Location-wise, you’re sort of in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to the CBD that you can walk to King Street in fifteen minutes (though let’s be honest, in summer you’ll probably grab an Uber), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and chaos of the city center. Wellington Street can get a bit busy during peak hour – you’ll hear the traffic – but it settles down pretty nicely in the evenings. There’s a decent café about two blocks down that does proper flat whites, and if you’re into that whole boutique shopping thing, Leederville’s just a quick hop away. The rating of 9 out of 10 seems about right, actually. I’d probably dock a point for the shower pressure (it’s fine, just not amazing) and maybe the fact that the air conditioning unit sounds like it’s working a bit too hard, but honestly? Those are pretty minor complaints when you consider what you’re getting for the price point and the whole package.
What really sold me on this place was the attention to small details that someone who’s actually traveled would appreciate. Clean towels that don’t smell like industrial detergent, Wi-Fi that actually works when you need to join that important video call, blackout curtains that block out the streetlights so you can sleep past 6 AM. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby wondering if your booking actually went through. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out, cook a proper meal if you want to, and actually feel like you’re living somewhere rather than just camping out in a hotel room counting down the days.

Guest Reviews
Great location and comfortable stay
Location was a short walking distance to the train station. The apartment had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Access was self service and very easy to follow.
Lovely and quiet apartment for.our 5 day stay in Perth.
Location.quiet. For our activities in Perth it was perfect. We had a car so access to WA University, the CBD, Kings Park and the Northport ferry terminal was simple.
What could be improved: We were completely satisfied
Little gem of an apartment
Very comfortable and clean, very nicely decorated, close to the free CAT busses, generally nice and quiet considering it's close to a main road (save the odd police siren) lots of cafes nearby for breakfast and coffee. When I got in touch with the staff they were lovely and very helpful, also super fast with their responses.
What could be improved: Nothing major, just be careful of the solid wood bedframe corners, my shins were black and blue 😂
THE CLOSENESS OF EVERTHING, FOOD SHOPS AND PARKING
GREAT INFORMATION
What could be improved: NOTHING
Perfect location and very comfortable stay. Highly recommend!!
Super location, with everything we could need for a few days stay.
Fabulous apartment with nice inner city vibe.
The location was great. Quick uber ride to main streets. Coffee shop right next door and another a few doors down. Awesome bar Mayfair Lane about 5 min walk away.
Really comfortable beds. Styley apartment with great furnishings. Car park added bonus.
Had everything we needed.
What could be improved: Nothing
well priced and located perfectly for our purpose
location
What could be improved: parking small and tight, but expected for location
Really gorgeous place in a great location
Very funky and cosy place and it was so close to transport and the city .
What could be improved: The fan in the bathroom didn’t capture the steam. And the drain I’m the shower was clogged when we arrived so we had to clean it out so it wouldn’t flood. Only one tea towel and we has several days of washing up to do.
Exceptional
Great location near city bus, free parking, clean place
Exceptional
A beautifully maintained, clean apartment in an excellent location.
What could be improved: The only downfall for us were the blinds in bedrooms, the back room in particular.
They let in a fair bit of light and moved a lot when the ceiling fan was on so it was quite noisy.
