Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – the name “22 Heavenly Highgate New 2br Parkinghbf” is a bit of a mouthful and screams vacation rental listing, but don’t let that put you off. This place on Smith Street is actually a solid find, especially if you’re looking for something that feels more like a proper apartment than your typical hotel room. The two-bedroom setup is genuinely spacious (not that cramped “open concept” nonsense), and you know what really sold me? The parking situation. I mean, anyone who’s driven around Perth knows that finding a decent parking spot can be a proper nightmare, but here you’re sorted from the get-go.
The location is pretty clever, actually. You’re in what I’d call the sweet spot – close enough to the city that you’re not spending half your day commuting, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the constant hum of traffic and weekend party crowds. Smith Street itself is fairly quiet, which honestly surprised me because I was expecting more noise being so close to the main drag. The whole Highgate area has this sort of established residential feel – you’ll see locals walking their dogs in the morning, little cafes tucked into corners that aren’t trying too hard to be Instagram-worthy. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like actual Perth rather than tourist Perth, if that makes sense.
What really impressed me was the attention to detail – and I don’t mean fancy marble countertops or whatever. I’m talking about things like proper blackout curtains (thank god, because Perth morning sun is no joke), decent water pressure in the shower, and kitchen equipment that actually works. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a mattress all night, which honestly puts it ahead of some pricier places I’ve stayed. The whole setup feels like someone actually lives here rather than just existing as a rental property. You can tell they’ve thought about what travelers actually need – there’s proper storage space, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. It’s not flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but it’s genuinely functional in a way that makes you feel settled rather than just passing through. For the price point and that 8.5 rating, it makes sense – this is the kind of place where you can actually relax and spread out a bit, maybe cook a proper meal if you’re staying for more than a night or two.

Guest Reviews
Exceptional
Good location with free parking. Close to many restaurants
What could be improved: None
Home stay in Perth
It had everything we needed, and the location was convenient for our needs.
What could be improved: I believe a cleaning fee was included in the booking when but we are expected to wash and dry dishes and empty trash cans. Otherwise, a few would be charged.
A comfortable apartment, conveniently located.
Close to station and restaurants
What could be improved: Taking cases upstairs to bedrooms was difficult.
Great location with beautiful rooms
The rooms are clean and beautiful with all the facilities you may need for a trip. The location is a bonus. Very close to woolly and CBD restaurants. We also like the environment around in the suburb. Pretty leafy. The host provides prompt and detailed information around check in and check out.
What could be improved: The shower may leak a bit if you take a long shower, but it doesn't cause too much trouble. The stairs can be a bit tricky for people with mobility issues.
This is a great base for exploration Perth city with Neighbourhood cafes and restaurants just 2 mins away and a supermar
We received the best directions EVER to a property - all our questions were answered asap by the lovely staff.
What could be improved: A couple more tea towels?
Nice and comfortable place to stay but lacks the human touch associated with on site manager
Location was good once I worked out the buses to city and available shops and restaurants nearby.
What could be improved: Getting my deposit back on the property proved to require a couple of prompts. There is no place on the site where you a leave bags to pick up later.
Overall it was a very good location and unit
Close to City of Perth Australia public transport, restaurants, parkland and shopping.
What could be improved: Spiral staircase
Leaking shower base that was attended too within half an hour of phone call
Exceptional
Great location. Convenient for CBD and airport.
A suitable place for a small family of 4! Recommended!!!
Strategic location, near by all relevant tourist destination!
What could be improved: A bit too compact, especially with 2 active boys! But, it was manageable
Good
Really great location, quiet enough complex. Very clean and had everything you needed.
What could be improved: The million rules you get bombarded with more than once. I understand the need to keep a place clean but it was pedantic. You have to pay over a month before your stay in full, then on top you have to pay a $250 deposit a month before. I found this to be ridiculous, you can pay deposits a few days before. These things kind of ruined everything nice about our stay, I was kind of glad just to leave, which is a shame because the place is small but quite lovely.
