Overview
First Impressions
You know what caught me off guard about Kings Park Motel? It’s actually nothing like what you’d expect from a typical roadside motel. Sure, it’s got that classic motel layout with parking right outside your door, but there’s something refreshingly honest about the place that I really appreciated. The three-star rating might seem modest, but honestly, they’ve nailed the basics so well that you’ll find yourself wondering why you’d pay twice as much elsewhere.
Location Magic
The Thomas Street address in Subiaco is honestly brilliant — I mean, you’re practically neighbors with Kings Park (hence the name), and that’s not just marketing fluff. You can walk to the park in about ten minutes, which is perfect for morning jogs or those sunset moments when Perth’s skyline looks absolutely stunning. Subiaco itself has this great village feel with cafes and shops you can actually walk to, something that’s surprisingly rare in Perth where you usually need a car for everything. The location truly sets this motel apart from other accommodations in the area.
The Room Experience
My room was clean and functional — no fancy marble bathrooms or designer furniture, but everything worked perfectly. The air conditioning was quiet (crucial for Perth summers), the bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept well, and there’s decent space to spread out your stuff. What I really liked was the little touches that show someone cares — fresh towels that actually felt soft, and the sort of attention to detail that makes you feel like a guest rather than just another booking number. These thoughtful amenities elevate the entire experience.
Why Couples Keep Coming Back
I totally get why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about being able to park right outside, grab some wine from the nearby shops, and then walk hand-in-hand to Kings Park for sunset views over the city. The fact that so many guests return here speaks volumes, actually. In my experience, people only become repeat customers when a place consistently delivers on its promises without any nasty surprises. This motel has clearly mastered that formula.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Kings Park Motel isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and that’s exactly why it works so well. You get free parking (which saves you at least $20-30 a night compared to city hotels), you’re in one of Perth’s most desirable neighborhoods, and the staff clearly take pride in what they do. It’s the kind of place where you check in thinking you’re just getting a bed for the night, but end up genuinely enjoying your stay. For the price point, honestly, you’d be hard-pressed to find better value anywhere else in Perth. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, this motel delivers exceptional comfort and convenience.

Great value for money, extremely clean and room was modern in decor. Good facilities and ideal for our location. Free parking and pool.
What could be improved: On main road so noisy if window open.
Would choose a room with more kitchen facilities next time.
