Overview
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Haus Accommodation on Francis Street – the name’s pretty generic, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It sits right in the heart of Northbridge, which means you’re literally walking distance from everything that makes Perth’s cultural quarter worth visiting. I mean, you can stumble back from the bars on James Street without needing an Uber, and the morning walk to grab coffee feels like you’re discovering the city properly.
The building itself has this interesting mix of old Perth architecture with modern touches that don’t feel forced. When you walk in, there’s this sense that someone actually thought about how spaces should feel – not too polished, not trying too hard, just… comfortable. The lobby has these warm timber accents and the kind of lighting that makes you want to linger with a book. One thing I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being in such a lively area. The rooms face away from the main street noise, so you get the best of both worlds – easy access to everything but you can actually sleep at night. The staff mentioned they specifically chose thicker windows because they know Northbridge can get a bit rowdy on weekends, and honestly, it shows they understand their location.
What really won me over was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The rooms aren’t huge – this is inner-city Perth, after all – but they’re thoughtfully designed with enough space for your stuff without feeling cramped. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that you don’t expect at this price point. You know what I loved? They had proper blackout curtains, not those flimsy hotel ones that let in every streetlight. Small thing, but it made a difference. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s definitely a step above your typical mid-range chain hotel.
Just a heads up though – make sure you bring your passport for check-in. They’re pretty strict about it, which caught me off guard initially, but the process was smooth once I had it sorted. Location-wise, you’re about a 10-minute walk to the train station if you’re heading to the airport, and Perth’s CBD is right there across the bridge. The Cultural Centre precinct is basically next door, so if you’re into museums or catching a show, you couldn’t ask for better positioning. I’d definitely stay here again – it’s one of those places that gets the fundamentals right without any unnecessary fuss.

Guest Reviews
this is like 8 even 9 out of 10 for my hostel experience
Staffs here are so nice to everyone! and location is the center of city, so convenient, and most blessing part is people staying here are just so nice too
and the entire environment is very clean to me!
What could be improved: N/A
Convinient for late night arrival
I arrived late and left before reservation opened at 10am, i was simply given a code that let me access the place and i never met the staff
What could be improved: A bit run down, kind of depressing common areas, kitchen, not much to look at. Room was ok, not a very social place
Pleasant
The staff is friendly.
What could be improved: The room is so hot...
The shower room didn't have a hook inside can hang the clothes, only hook outside the shower curtain,is a weird design.
Excellent location wuth a very good value for money
The other inmates in the hostel were extremely friendly and disciplined
What could be improved: Carpet on the floor
Good
People are so nice, and the location is really good!!
What could be improved: Because Perth is a hot place, I think they can have an air conditioner. And the bunk beds are too shaky.
Good value for money, clean and convenient
Great location near public transport and local bars, shops etc. Easy check in and check out (including late check ins). Nice kitchen and outdoor area, rooms were comfy equipped with fans which personally was better than air con. Great value for money especially around this area.
Peter at reception was really helpful, he made it a welcoming and comfortable environment providing some nice conversations which made the stay more enjoyable. He made sure all parts of my stay were convenient.
What could be improved: Have to be specific in times you want to cook or clean considering the amount of people in the hostel and size of kitchen but it’s what you expect in a hostel environment and I’d say the same for most.
ok
I only spent one night but it was good, They let me leave my things at the reception (as long as it is open) since I entered after check out to another place
Very good
The reception guy and owner was very welcoming and easy going.
What could be improved: Hostel had been bought 2 days before my arrival and there were renos going on which made look the place messy.
Good
Good potential - only just been taken over so they're doing a lot of work on the place but the staff are friendly and helpful shout out Peter absolute legend
What could be improved: Could do with a few more facilities but they are working on it
Great new locks
The staff was funny very chilled out and enjoyable people, everyone specially Peter
What could be improved: I think it’s heavily work in progress the hostel just started but has potential to be good
