Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to First-Class Townhouse w free parking and Wi-Fi on Kathleen Avenue, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. But you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward places surprise you the most. This four-star property sits in a quiet residential area of Perth, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a well-appointed home than a typical hotel. The fact that I could park right on-site without worrying about fees or availability was already a win in my book.
The Space and Comfort
The townhouse setup is actually pretty clever — you get way more space than you’d find in a standard hotel room, which makes it perfect for couples who want to spread out a bit. I mean, there’s a real sense of privacy here that you just don’t get in those big chain hotels. The layout feels thoughtful, with separate areas for relaxing and sleeping, and the Wi-Fi works reliably throughout (I tested it because, well, that’s what you do these days). Everything’s clean and well-maintained, though it’s more about comfort than flashy amenities.
Location and Getting Around
Kathleen Avenue turned out to be one of those perfect middle-ground locations — residential enough to be quiet at night, but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere either. Perth’s city center is easily accessible, and having that guaranteed parking spot means you can actually explore without the stress of finding somewhere to leave your car. The neighborhood has a lived-in feel that I actually prefer to staying right in the tourist zones. You’ll find a few local cafes and shops within walking distance, nothing fancy but definitely authentic Perth.
What Makes It Work for Couples
I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something about the townhouse format that just feels more romantic than a standard hotel room. You’re not hearing footsteps from the room above or dealing with thin walls and hallway noise. The space gives you room to actually relax together without feeling cramped, and honestly, that free parking thing becomes a bigger deal than you’d think when you’re planning day trips around Perth. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a few days and actually feel at home.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The combination of space, privacy, and practical perks like parking and reliable internet creates this sweet spot where you’re comfortable without paying for a bunch of amenities you won’t use. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me — it’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. For couples especially, it offers that rare thing in travel: a place that actually feels like your own space rather than just somewhere you’re temporarily staying.

Guest Reviews
I WILL be coming back to this place for a weekend away!
The best thing would probably be the actual size of the house, the size of the house was very spacious and roomy! Felt right at home
What could be improved: The only thing i would change is the stairs as at night i did fall down the last 2 stairs as you cannot see them at night even with lights on! Other than that nothing
Really enjoyed it
Set out and location
What could be improved: No microwave
Clean home but too many issues.
The home was clean inside. We liked that it had a washer & drier & garage.
What could be improved: We had to chase the property manager Miguel for the address & how to obtain the keys. We did not get this information until after the advised check in time of 3pm. It was a hot day & we had to wait in the car for an unacceptable length of time after check in.
I read that some had problems with the stairs. They are quite dangerous, with a tight turn with little tread to step on. They are constructed of hard tiles with sharp edges. The microwave that was provided was inside a cupboard on top of a tall fridge. My wife could not reach the cupboard so again very dangerous. We mentioned this to Miguel who told us to move it if we wanted to use it! This meant standing on very unstable dining chairs at 70+ age group!!!
The external windows were extremely dirty with cobwebs everywhere. Again mentioned to the manager but obviously not a priority. I also noted someone mentioned about some domestic violence issues. This happened close bye whilst we were there which was very confronting. The street is in a dubious part of Perth & we felt unsafe at times.
For the price we expected more. Just to mention when I completed my booking the confirmation that came through had "no children allowed" added to the slip. But they advertise it to be a family home stay & the house had a high chair & baby cot??
Exceptional
Even thing
We will be back 😊
Location, spacious, amenities were great, everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Definitely a delightful and great value all round.
What could be improved: There really needs to be a rail at the top of the stairs in the garage, we nearly stepped over and fell off a few times. Router may be better toward the front door as internet connection was dropping out being at the back of the home.
So fun, perfect for friends and family.
The property was in a prime location, and it was absolutely stunning.
What could be improved: The stairs were extremely steep resulting in an injury.
