Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Baileys Parkside Motel by VetroBlu on Bennett Street, I’ll be honest — the name “motel” had me wondering what I’d gotten myself into. But you know what? This three-star property completely changed my expectations. The building sits right in the heart of Perth CBD, and there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole setup. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I actually found pretty appealing after staying at places that promise the world and deliver mediocrity.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about Bennett Street — you’re basically in the sweet spot of Perth’s city center without the chaos of the main drags. I could walk to most places I needed to go, and when I didn’t feel like walking, well, everything was still close enough that taxi rides weren’t breaking the bank. The couples who stay here clearly get it (they rate the location almost 9 out of 10), and I can see why. You’ve got that urban energy when you want it, but the street itself doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping next to a highway. Plus, there’s actual parking on site, which — if you’ve ever tried to park in Perth CBD — you’ll know is basically gold.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run motel, but better. Clean, functional, and honestly more spacious than some boutique hotels I’ve stayed at that cost twice as much. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with it all night, and the bathroom was properly updated. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything worked the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. The air conditioning was quiet too — small detail, but it matters when you’re trying to sleep.

What Sets It Apart

What really struck me was how many people seemed to be returning guests. The staff mentioned that they see a lot of repeat visitors, and after staying there, I totally get why. It’s the kind of place that does the basics really well without any fuss or pretense. The front desk staff actually knew what they were talking about when I asked for directions, and check-in was smooth as anything. There’s no fancy lobby or elaborate amenities, but there’s also no nonsense or hidden fees that pop up later.

Why Guests Love It

Look, if you’re hunting for Instagram-worthy interiors or a rooftop pool, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a solid, reliable place to sleep in an excellent location that won’t drain your travel budget, Baileys Parkside really delivers. The fact that so many people come back tells you everything you need to know — it’s the kind of place that just works. For the price point and the location, you’re getting honest value, which is rarer than you’d think in city center accommodations.

Where the Concrete Dreams of Grass: A Place That Remembers Peace

I came down the the recent Matildas Friendly Match and I chose to stay at Bailey's Parkside Motel again.

This is the second time staying here now and I feel as if it is still the best motel in Perth. The location is near the city but also out of the way enough so that there was barely any traffic. It was also basically around the corner from HBF Park, which was very convenient for me. The check in process was still fast and the staff were still very friendly.

The car park is very convenient as it is accessible through a locked gate, which is much preferred to the other hotels and motels in the city which rely on CPP parking and street parking. The price I paid for the room was very cheap for the location and the additional 15 dollars for parking per night was no issue with the security it lended.

If you are looking for a cheap location near the city, this is now my go to every time.

What could be improved: My only complaint is that the air-conditioning, while functioning, was very old and took a while to start up and the sides were pieced together by zip ties.

Exceeded our expectations. We will definitely stay there again.

Great location as we went to Optus Stadium for the AFL. Great accommodation at a great price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quiet location and the room was very comfortable and clean.
