Overview

First Impressions

The 46 Hay St Hideaway Central 2brparking sits right in the heart of Perth CBD, and honestly, the location alone makes this four-star place worth considering. I mean, you’re literally on Hay Street — one of the main shopping strips — so everything you’d want to explore is basically at your doorstep. The building itself has that modern Australian apartment vibe, nothing too flashy but clean and well-maintained. You know what really caught my attention though? The fact that they actually include parking in the name tells you everything about how practical this place is.

The Space

This is essentially a two-bedroom apartment setup, which makes it perfect for families or couples who want more space than your typical hotel room. The layout feels surprisingly spacious — you’ve got a proper living area where you can actually spread out and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped, which I found really useful since Perth’s dining scene, while great, can get pricey if you’re eating out every meal. The bedrooms are comfortable enough, though nothing extraordinary — think clean, modern furnishings with decent storage space.

Location Perks

Here’s where this place really shines — the location feedback isn’t kidding when it mentions couples love it here. You’re walking distance from the Swan River, which is gorgeous for evening strolls, and the Perth Mint is literally around the corner if you’re into that sort of thing. Murray Street Mall is close by for shopping, and honestly, you can walk to most of Perth’s main attractions from here. The train station is also nearby, so getting to Fremantle or the beaches is pretty straightforward.

What Actually Matters

The parking situation deserves a mention because anyone who’s driven around Perth CBD knows it’s a nightmare finding a spot. Having dedicated parking takes away that stress completely. The Wi-Fi works well — I had no issues working from the apartment during my stay. The air conditioning is decent, which you’ll appreciate during Perth’s summer months. One thing to note: it’s an apartment-style setup, so don’t expect daily housekeeping like you’d get at a traditional hotel, but there’s a washing machine if you need it.

Why Guests Love It

That 8.5 location rating from recent guests makes total sense once you’ve stayed here. You’re genuinely in the thick of things without the chaos of staying right on the main tourist strips. The two-bedroom setup means you’re not cramped, and having kitchen facilities gives you flexibility with meals and timing. It’s particularly good for couples because you get that “living in Perth” feeling rather than just passing through. The price point feels fair for what you get, especially considering the location and the parking inclusion — which, trust me, saves you both money and headaches in this part of town.

Apartment itself is ok, but a difficult check in process and step stairs to get to the lift.

The apartment itself was nice. Good to have two bedrooms and roomy.

What could be improved: Very steep narrow tread stairs (about 15) to lug your suitcases up from the carpark to get to the Mezzanine floor lift. You are unable to walk back down the car ramp to the ground floor to get to the lift from there as the gate locks behind you.
You had to go to a separate place in the city to pick up the key (only found this out the day before). Contradictory messages for check out saying we had to put the only 1 key supplied back in the lockbox at the different location and leave one (??) on the kitchen bench. Because of this the only way to exit is to walk the 5 flights down as you need a key to activate the lift.
Toilet smelled of old urine.

Family comfort with good location.

The facilities provided are complete and comfortable for a family stay. Location is also near to mall, museums and parks.

What could be improved: No luggage storage facility at the property. There is one outside but charged by number of luggages.

Good value for money. We will definitely stay at this apartment again in the future

The apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable, well equipped with a sizable kitchen which made cooking enjoyable. The washing machine and dryer were a godsend. Having separate shower and toilets were a bonus especially with teens around. Security was excellent. Walking distance to the city. Grocery stores and food outlets close by.
